A closer look at the journey.

The direct Everest Base Camp trek follows the Dudh Koshi valley from Lukla into the heart of the Khumbu. Namche Bazaar introduces the trading centre of the region, while Tengboche brings mountain views and its monastery into the journey. Higher up, the landscape opens into the glacial country around Lobuche and Gorak Shep.

Rest days at Namche and Pheriche break up the approach before the Base Camp visit. The return follows the valley to Lukla, with a flight back to Kathmandu. Kala Patthar can be discussed as an additional viewpoint objective, but it needs a clear place in the agreed itinerary and suitable conditions on the day.
